印度能否赶超中国？

[内容提要]经济发展的捷径是什么？吸引外商直接投资———中国如是说，许多政策专家也赞同。但是与长期以来相对落后的印度的比较却表明，外商直接投资并非是走向繁荣的独木桥。实际上，靠发展本土企业的印度要比因银行资金短缺、金融市场疲软而受到重重限制的中国具有长期的相对优势。
Abstract：What is the shortcut in economic development？Many Chinese scholarsand policy experts would agree that attracting direct foreign investment is sucha shortcut.However ，a comparison between China and India，the long-time economicbackwater ，shows that direct for －eign investment is not the only path that leadstowards prosperity.In fact ，India ，which relies more on its national industryrather than foreign investment，shows a long-term relative advan－tage over Chinawhich is always limited by monetary shortage and a sluggish financial market.
