[摘要] the front and intermediate parts of the treasury curve sold off significantly the past week, the curve flattened meaningfully, and breakeven tips inflation spreads narrowed notably after fed chairman greenspan reassured investors that the fed was prepared to move in response to any further signs of accelerating inflation. the chairman said the fed stood ready to act as necessary to maintain low inflation, opening the door to a rate hike as soon as august if the economic data continue to point to sustainable recovery. in an otherwise very quiet week for economic data, a strong durable goods report and some slight upside in core ppi continued the trend of blowout growth data for march along with indications of bottoming in inflation, reinforcing market expectations for earlier fed action.
