abstract this paper analyses and solves some grammatical problemsin tcsl by means of valence grammatical theory,and thereby illustratesthe following:(1)valence grammatical theory provides us with a newanalytic angle in the explanation of some grammatical problems in modernchinese.(2)valence grammatical theory is helpful in broadening ourresearch work and in the explanation
of some grammatical problems thatare not so easy to be explained by other theories.(3)valence
